The Speed Pyramid

If your running routine is just “going for a jog,” you are leaving speed on the table. πŸ›‘πŸ“‰

At healthyandshape.com, we know that steady-state cardio has its place, but if you want to get faster, torch calories, and improve your VO2 max, you need Interval Pyramids.

This 500m session is designed to teach your body how to handle increasing levels of fatigue. It hurts, but that’s where the change happens. And trust usβ€”it’s way easier when you have a squad pulling you through that final rep.

The 500m Pyramid Protocol:

  • Warm-up: 1 mile easy jog + dynamic stretching.
  • The Work:
    • πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ 500m @ 70% effort (Uncomfortable but sustainable)
    • Rest: 90 seconds walking
    • πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ 500m @ 85% effort (Hard, breathing very heavy)
    • Rest: 2 minutes walking
    • πŸš€ 500m @ 100% MAX effort (Everything you have left)
  • Cool-down: 800m very slow jog.

Grab your girls, hit the track, and embrace the burn. πŸ”₯🧱
